Trip 4 Day 10 Jaisalmer
Trains in Rajasthan runs vacant due to which to instant travel is very convenient. You can plan anytime to anywhere?
One can travel in general and get the seat for sleeping. This is what happens to me.
No need to book any ticket just book a general ticket from UTS app and work done.
The train reached an hour before the scheduled time. I was the last fellow to step down from my compartment, laziness at its peak.
Consuming my internet to install updates of the phone I came out of the station.
Not so far, my hotel was just 2.4 km away from the station I covered by walking.
I felt myself lucky walking down to hotel when I saw Jaisalmer Fort flooded in green lights all around. Spectacular view from streets.
I took plenty of pictures and uploaded one on Instagram.
As I saw my grandmother in childhood, waking up early going for the temple to worship, same I saw a chore group heading towards the temple.
I reached the hotel at 7 am, got my room and slept for two hours. Jaisalmer is too much commercialized and I predicted it to be more.
Which resulted in no further plans. Devi Lal the owner of the hotel helped me in planning.
I met a community friend who also has great suggestions for me and took me to Badal Palace.
A king made a palace for its horse. Vishal dropped me to the famous kachori wala shop.
It was delicious but I ate some as I restrict myself to outside food.
Today I roamed inside the Fort. It's the only living fort of India where a number of families still has a residence.
I tried visiting the ancient Narayan Temple which was closed by 1 pm.
Someone near to me told that there is a marriage function today along with that grand party(56 bhog in Hindu religion which has its own importance).
A passager in train told me about the temple and its importance from the days of Kings who ruled Jaisalmer. Everybody was invited Today for bhog.
So was I. There is no formal invitation to anyone. I walked further and walked all around the corners of the Fort. Night journey in the train made me bit tired.
I can sand land Jaisalmer from the top of the Fort. There are some places here where you can go through some home to Wall.
There were canons laid down after a few steps which were small in size.
About walking in the streets of the fort I returned by 3 pm and rested sometime at the room.
Managed my data for which I was struggling to find some time. Here it was.
The people who reside nearby temple told me to come by 6 as it opens at this time.
I reached before time but there was some delay in preparing 56 blogs so the doors of the temple opened half an hour late from its scheduled time.
The worrying issue was where should I put my shoes. As one incident has already taken place in Kedarnath.
So I hid my shoes on the backside of the temple behind the entry gate. Front and backside have an equivalent crowd.
Still, I preferred backside because of business. No one is allowed to go out of temple campus without dinner or say prasad.
I ate a lil bit but that was very delicious. I came out and luckily my shoes were exactly there where I hid it.
Outside the temple sort of program on God was going on. I stayed there for a few minutes wanted to stay more but I need to reach the hotel on time.
There were foreigners who were enjoying this. It must be new to them. I came back out my camera cells on charging and slept. It is enough for today.
